The Padres Hotel
Executive Summary
The Padres Hotel stands as the social heart of San Diego’s ballpark district, bridging the excitement of game day with the rhythm of daily life. Within its 350-foot frame and 150 guestrooms, active street-level dining and retail, a dedicated wellness and meeting floor, and a rooftop overlooking San Diego’s skyline, the hotel bridges game-day energy with everyday life in a warm, rooted, and modern experience.
Concept Narrative
A Padres fan’s hotel should feel like game day without the noise, part clubhouse, part city living room. The design embraces San Diego’s sunlit character through warm tones, textured finishes, and subtle nods to the Padres’ spirit. Street level stays open and social, merch, casual dining, pre-game meetups while upper levels shift to calm, with rooms that feel restorative after late innings. The rooftop turns twilight into a ritual: pergolas, pool glow, skyline views, and the hum of the city carrying the season forward. It’s not a five-star flex; it’s smart, welcoming sophistication built for athletes, families, and fans rooted in place, connected to the neighborhood, and unmistakably Padres.

Material and Color Palette

Its material language draws from the textures of the city and the spirit of the ballpark: the brick and concrete that define its structure, the terracotta tones of sunset, the coastal warmth of wood, and the limestone that recalls the soft sands of San Diego’s shoreline. The color palette reflects the Padres’ original identity, warm browns, golden yellows, and sun-washed neutrals, creating a sense of familiarity and light that connects the city, the team, and the coast. Together, these elements create a palette that feels both authentic and enduring; a reflection of the city’s energy and the team’s legacy.
